The use of ammonia in the garden and garden

the use of ammonia in the garden and garden Blog

For several generations, recipes have been passed down between housewives, thanks to which it is possible to clean windows to a shine, refresh carpets and remove any stains. And in most cases ammonia plays a key role. But not everyone knows that it can also be used to effectively solve problems in the garden. How can you use a first aid kit and how exactly can ammonia be diluted?

What is the use of ammonia for the garden?

Surely, you are aware that with the help of ammonia, you can very quickly restore consciousness to a person. The same effect can be obtained if you use a substance for a garden or vegetable garden. And the whole secret lies in the composition of ammonia, which is a nitrogen compound. And few people know that it is the main source of nitrogen for plants. If you properly prepare a solution of ammonia and use it for top dressing, you can remove an unpleasant pale green tint from plants. What is the reason for the loss of color? It’s all about nitrogen. When it is not enough in the plant, the process of producing chlorophyll stops.

It is ammonia that can remove this problem. To do this, mix it with water: three tablespoons per bucket of water. Plants are watered with this solution, trying to pour under the very root.

How does ammonia manage to produce a resurrecting effect? The fact is that nitrogen is vital for plants. And it is in the form of an ammonia solution that it is best absorbed. But watering should be done not only when you have already noticed a problem (the plant wilts). For example, such top dressing can ensure the usefulness and quality of the fruit. Use the same volumes and water the roots periodically. It is important to remember that cucumbers and onions have a special need for nitrogen. And among the flowers, clematis and hydrangea are especially capricious. You can not do without ammonia geranium and lily.

Pest control with ammonia

It is no secret that ammonia has a very strong and unpleasant odor. And moreover, this smell is unpleasant not only for humans, but also for insects. There are many technologies that allow the use of ammonia in pest control. What kind of insects will not be delighted:

  • while your bush will be fueled by nitrogen, the aphid will get angry in earnest. Fill a garden bucket with water and pour in 50 ml of ammonia. Also rub some laundry soap. Spray the plants and the aphids will leave it alone.
  • many gardeners and gardeners suffer from a bear, which simply loves to populate cabbage beds. To save yourself from misfortune, water each well with a solution when planting (use 10 ml). The same recipe will drive the wireworm away. To do this, repeat the previous steps and pour half a liter into the tomato hole when planting.
  • by reducing the dose to 5 ml, you can protect your carrots from carrot or onion flies. They can’t stand the smell of ammonia. And if a secretive hunter visits, then prepare 25 ml of ammonia diluted in a bucket. But you need to use only at the beginning of summer and once a week.
  • in the same way, you can get rid of ants that love to inhabit country houses, and especially the kitchen. To drive away annoying “guests”, do a wet cleaning with a weak concentration of ammonia. Of course, at first you will have to endure a strong smell. But it will soon disappear, but the insects will leave your home.
  • so that small midges do not climb into your face when you are engaged in plants in the garden, periodically spray a weak solution of ammonia around you.

As you can see, just a small dose of ammonia can help you out of many problems: get rid of pests and ensure a quality crop.
